Ok, so, I was watching Enterprise last night and there was a running fight in hyperspace between the NX-01 (is that right?) and a bunch of little spherical SUliban ships. The Suliban ships were manouvering around and at one point the enterprise alters course by 10 degrees, but the Suliban all manage to stay right with her (I am assuming, being a ship, that the Enterprise is a her). Now, here's my problem: at speeds many times faster than light, and assuming that geometry works the same even at those velocities, then a 10 degree angle of change in flight path would, in short order - even in the subseconds it would take the suliban's ships' computers to make a course correction - mean that the Enterprise would be suddenly very far away - as, at that speed, according to some rudimentary trig work, even a 10 degree angle change would make sin opposite divided by hypotoneuse equal to approximately a fuckload.
So how do they keep up?
