A girl I know broke my head today by saying the second most fucked-up thing I've ever heard of.
The thing is, I had it all figured out: She was going to stop going out with me because she wanted to get a boyfriend and she didn't want it to be me. I wasn't happy with it, but you know, her choice and all.
Anyway, today she tells me that last night, the guy asked her to be her girlfriend and she agreed. Nothing odd so far. So then she tells me that she doesn't really like him at all. She tells me that she likes me (and not just as a friend) much more than she likes him. In fact, the way he proposed, she has "lost all respect" for him. Then she says that she "doesn't really plan to spend a lot of time with him." and "at least I'll get bio notes for the rest of the semester."
I hope what she did makes sence to her, because I feel (not upset really, sort of giddy, flabargested doesn't really fit) ... sort of like my sanity has the same kind of grip on my mind as a fisherman has on his boat in a squall. I hope this goes away after I get some sleep.
p.s. I don't think she's lying about any of this, but that's just my ignorant opinion.
