I read that industry analysts estimate that the earliest that Microsoft could conceivably turn a profit on the XBox is 2004. Apparently they spent half a billion on advertising, are selling the console itself at a near-loss, and failed to meet their original launch quotas so they won't even be able to meet the Christmas demand.
Oh well, at least DOA3 has boobies.

Oh no! You mean we actually invested half a billion dollars on advertising? I should have thought this over more-- that's almost 5 percent of my personal net worth and nearly 0.15% of my company's market capitalization!
