Why is it that tens of thousands of citizens lining the streets in anti-war protests are not representative of the will of the people according to their elected leaders, yet less than a thousand partying dudes in Baghdad represent the celebration of the entire nation of Iraq?

Obviously, because the Iraqis represent vindication for those elected leaders, while the protests represent intelligent opposition, which they hate.

Because in Iraq, there were no party leaders, out of work Communists, and aging hippies organizing the rally with newsletters and email and internet newsgroups; handing out pamphlets and scheduling sit-ins on their Palm Zires.
