Do you have a foolproof method for ensuring that I've set my clock-radio alarm for AM instead of PM? That little bugger keeps forgetting to go off in the morning.

When you set the alarm time you make sure that you set it for the morning or the evening. It will probably have an LED that is lit for AM or lit for PM, figure out when it lights and set the time accordingly.

Then make sure you have the normal time set. If your clock is always going off during the wrong part of the day, you probably have the normal time set 12 hours off.

Or you could get a military grade 24 hour clock.

I refuse to support the military industrial complex by using 24-hour clocks.

I refuse to care if you make it to work in the morning.
