I can't believe how wrong your advice is.

Whoever says "shotgun" first gets shotgun. That's the only rule I've ever known about things like this. Ever. That's the only one that matters, if you ask me.

Shotgun wins. The other people are bitches.

It is most polite to defer the shotgun position to the tallest passenger and the "bitch" position to the shortest passenger.
