Not only are Maple and MATLAB for two entirely different purposes, but Maple is for little kids. There is no way Maple is going do advanced image processing or complex control simulations.
There was this kid, in class, who used to type all his notes in Maple...when there was a drawing, he'd open up Paintbrush, draw it, and paste it in.
