I just got an email from the director of a neurology research project I applied to be an assistant on. Apparently, preference will be given to applicants who are "competent with C and MATLAB". I am competent with neither. I am a toxicology student, not a programmer. Is there some way I can fake competence with these things long enough to learn them?
