But anyway, other than that he's generally known for is being the first to suggest that the earth rotates on its axis.

However, this idea didn't gain much acceptance, as others taunted him, saying "How could the earth spin with enough force to move your fat ass?"

The ancient Greeks could be a rather mean lot, I'm afraid.
