Ahem. Think of it as a clever thought experiment relating to the fact that nothing is truly created in one action. An apple pie is not made from 'scratch' even if you start with just apples, flour, water, and other essential ingredients. The apples came from a tree, the tree came from a seed, the millions of years of evolution that occured to produce apples, the stellar evolution process necessary for the heavy elements in the apples, so on and so forth to the very laws of physics that allow for apple pies to exist.
