My best friend thinks she's either gay or bi, but is very particular about who she tells. Another mutual friend just blabbed to a former work associate about the whole situation, thus causing severe breach of trust issues and general not good.

Boy, that's a toughie. But here's what you've gotta do. You've got to come up with some even more shocking piece of news to distract this "work associate" person. Like, say, that you yourself are not only gay but you also like Japanese schoolgirls (or boys), and uh, fruit! Yeah, you think fruit is sexy. And baked goods.
