You know, the lack of sales tax is all fine and daddy, until you realize what it does to our state funds.
We have an education system that officially gone down the shitter. I barely escaped before the high school completely fell apart (metaphorically, though I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a literal statement soon). And we're supposed to have one of the good ones. We have a bloody state university here and the local schools are still in shambles.
