If you're not worried about a birth control pill affecting your sex drive, you should be. It will.

If you're not prone to bad cramps, try the IUD. Otherwise, you're pretty much stuck with hormonal methods. In that case, Depo-Provera is convenient (no daily pill regimen) and has nice effects (no more monthly cycle, hence no more cramps and that messy bleeding thing).

Just trying to be helpful here. You know, they shouldn't let male writers answer questions like that. You don't want your girlfriends to be in birth control dilemmas.
