Wow: Re: Today's query

I've noticed that the good doctor tends to respond to Askees in concise and easily readable scientific tidbits, which he didn't really do in the Ghostbuster movies. Dr. Spengler, where did you pick up the ability to condense a detailed scientific discussion into clear statements (suitable for a site like this) without losing their clinical feel?

Is it a by-product of sleeping with the ooze?

It may seem odd, but motion pictures are a poor media for 'easily readable' discussion.

Joking aside, it comes from my years teaching, and I feel that I my 'scientific tidbits' are always concise and easy to understand;

"Let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of psychokinetic energy in the New York area. According to this mornings sample it would be a Twinkie 35 feet long weighing about 600 pounds."

"Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light."

I take great pride in the fact that I try to distill complex scientific prinicles into language that any moderately educated layman, or even Venkman, could comprehend.

Would it be all right if I made a joke about a 'clinical feel?'

No.
