I would like to go on the record as saying that Nextel, a national cell phone company, sucks.
Their deal sounded good. They have a nice service feature, and coverage in all the major cities. With most companies, if you leave their coverage area you pay out the nose for "roaming" charges. The Nextel guy tells me "there's no roaming charges, you just have to pay long distance".
What he MEANT to say was "there's no roaming charges, because when you leave our area, your phone STOPS WORKING, so you'd better get your sorry ass to a phone booth". So to get out of the arrangement, I had to pay a $200 early connection fee, which is probably where they get all their money.
Don't use Nextel. That is all.
