A question for gamers/designers

MidgarV
Could someone please tell me why in the hell it's necessary for games to take up the entirity of my computer's screen? (I think I should be able to set them on a lower resolution and still use my instant messengers, but I've been foiled repeatedly. >_<)

Many games in fact will run in a window these days, but most of them want to run full-screen because it gets more direct control to the video subsytem...allowing all those polygons to fly around the screen with maximum efficiency.

As for your IM dilemma, since you're using Windows 98, it's entirely possible to plug in a second video card and monitor, which you could reasonably get for less than $100.

Of course, being a girl, this endevour may be too dangerous for you, as the inside of computers contain high voltage thingies, and, uh, elves. So you may want to find a hunky computer expert to help you out. One who dresses stylishly in black is preferred.

Why does it always come back to hitting on women around here?

Because we're too mortified by the opposite sex to try it in real life!

Wow...brutal honesty.

It's...
