Why to you have the count=n parm in the URL? Just the topic=n without the count parm returns the whole thread....

If we didn't have the count parameter, the URL would always be the same, even if there were new posts, so it would stay "visited".
By adding a parameter that varies, we force the link to become unvisited when there are new posts.

PS, I think the technical term for this type of parameter is "snot".
As in, "We'd better put some snot on the URL so it changes color."
