Addiction

The Asker
Got for xmas one of those Sony Glasstron personal video displays and while I was uninpressed by their quality, lack of options and messy jungle of cables, I got addicted to watching videos on my bed, safely tucked in my sheets. Needless to say, this is gonna be a problem when holiday season ends and I got to go back to work. Any possible cures, anyone? I'm learning to walk around wearing them, but Li-ion batteries are >expensive<...

By the 24th century movies will be elimated as a form of mass entertainment.
They will be replaced with audio-based educational games.

There is no cure for this addiction. Why don't you have the personal video unit implanted?

Mhey, step aside there, I have a much better solution to this "problem". Working with Sony, I'm about to unveil the next step in personal robotics:

The Sony Aiboffice Professional Edition(tm), mmhey!

This little baby is actually a full sized, huminoid robot, and is the next logical step up from the Aibo dog robot. You see, we cover it with a lifelike rubber skin, and your digized face, it looks so good that only your mother could tell you apart.
Professor Frink
What you do is send this baby in to work, allowing you to stay in bed all day watching your videos there.

Of course, there's a lengthy training process, it has to learn to walk, et cetera et cetera, and for the first few months it's rather socially awkward.
Crow T. Robot
In your case, we don't think that will draw any attention. Hee hee!
Professor Frink
But it's great really, and has less than a 30% probability of going berserk and going on a killing spree at the office, mhey!

Say, just what sort of videos does one stay in bed all day watching, hhhhhmmmmmmmm?

Saw this one over on "The Conversatron"... personal digital robots?
Apparently these things are being developed by Sony and will let you spend all day in bed watching videos (not that Hemos doesn't do that anwyays).
