Nuclear powered submarines run on reactors the size of a DeLorean but that produce significantly less than 1.21 gigawatts. How did you ever build such a powerful reactor within a DeLorean? If the DeLorean has any comments, I'd like to hear from it as well.

The key is the fact that the power output is very low duration; nuclear power reactors in submarines must run for long periods of time while only a split-second is needed to power the time vehicle.
