OK, so this is Voyager's last season. Good riddance, I say. Even the attempt to boost ratings by adding some cheesecake (by taking a pretty woman and putting her in a full length and obviously padded suit?!? WTF? Even Crusade did better than that and they weren't trying!) was pretty damn lame. There are rumblings of a new Star Trek series in the works though. So let's hear some predictions: what do you think the new Star Trek series is going to be about? Personally, I'm hoping they cover the exploits of the Enterprise-C so they can do a series wrap up that does "Yesterday's Enterprise" from the other side, as it were. (My God! I'm a long winded bastard, ain't I!)

As my attempts to get Paramount to recognize the brilliance of a new series starring Captain Sulu have gone unheeded, I now have little interest in whatever new series the producers decide to shovel upon the viewing public.

Your idea, while admirable, suffers from the same problem, in that the producers will not set a series in the earlier era, where things still made some amount of sense and small factor called 'quality' still entered into the equation.
Alas, I fear the 'new' Star Trek will be the worst series ever.

I have been told that in the new series, I will lead a team of busty female humans and aliens against the Borg, after the discovery that for reasons not made clear, wearing spandex somehow counters their powers of assimilation.

Of course, I may watch the series, but only out of loyalty to the franchise.
