Bacon is what's known in the "egghead industry" as an Avatar.
French for "lonely male nerd", Avatars are often used by lonely male nerds who are too shy, socially offensive, or just downright ugly to approach women in real life.
These nerds hope that they can lure attractive women, women that frankly are just out of their league, into meaningful "cyber" relationships, and that these "meetings of the minds" will help make up for their total lack of real-life appeal.
Should I remind you who's signing your paychecks these days?
