How do I convince my friend that IDE CD burners are not worth the trouble, and that he should spring the extra cash for a nice Plextor SCSI one?

So, SCSI vs IDE, huh? Somehow when you described this place, you made it seem more interesting than this, Uncle Dilbert.
Well... uh.... maybe it's more interesting... usually.
Well, nevermind. Ok, back to the question. I'd say that yes, SCSI burners tend to be better, and suffer from fewer buffer underruns or burn hiccups, especially when they're on their own SCSI bus.
But then again, it's your friend's money, and it's not like you own stock in "The SCSI Corporation", so let him get an IDE drive, it'll be cheaper!
