Possibly the dumbest piece of pulp science fiction ever written, but with maddeningly good ideas! Why did the execution have to be so crappy? Now I know why the movie sucked so much, but why couldn't they have taken what was good in the book and done it RIGHT instead of totally screwing it up altogether?

Considering the top movie right now is nothing more than a very expensive and poorly written slasher film with good special effects and not much else, don't expect improvement in the near future.
