IBM researchers have developed a new three dimmensional lattice technology bringing massive storage closer to the end user. Using technology similar to today's MO drives, but packed at a much higher density, IBM scientists are confident that a dive approximately 70 exobytes in volume could be manufactured for under $300. Currently, IBM has no schedule for releasing a product including this technology.

The practical applications of this device for storing multimedia and video files is enormous. I will need to inquire about a working prototype to use in my DCC server.
