Create a new account

Signing up needs JavaScript switched on. Before we take a new account, your browser does a small calculation that takes it under a second — it's what stops a robot making thousands of accounts and having us mail confirmation links to strangers.

Everything else here works fine without it: you can read every thread and sign in to an account you already have. If you can't turn it on, the addresses on the FAQ reach a human who can sort you out.

Desired username

This is the name that appears on everything you post. Letters, digits, dots, dashes and underscores.

Is your favorite username from 20 years ago already taken? Maybe by the old you from 20 years ago? We can help! Post a topic with your old username, your email, and something only you would say! We'll get you reconnected to that ancient account and you'll be back to your old bullshit no time.

Email address

Use a real one you can read right now. We send a link there, and an account that hasn't clicked it within two days is deleted — that's how we keep the robots out. It's also how you get back in when you forget your password. Nothing else is ever sent to it.

Gender

Picks the little placeholder portrait beside everything you ask. That is the entire function. You can change it later.

Password

Ten characters or more. There are no rules about capitals, digits or punctuation — a few words you can actually remember beats Xk7$q every time.
