Men and girly movies

The Question:
 Maiapapaya

Why can't men be chivalrus? Why is there no longer men willing to court and win the affections of the woman they admire? Why do girls have to do all the work now and listen to their male counterparts whine about being lonely and desperate. Sorry watching girly movies does this to me. If a man really made the effort he wouldn't be shot down. Any opinions to this?

Yes, sure. Just 'win the affections,' like so many of those little tickets after a round of whack-a-mole or skee-ball. If only we made the effort we could do it!

I personally think the problem is that most men these days have no idea how to go about meeting, let alone 'court and win the affections' of a woman. What are the rules? Where do we go? What do we do?

Why do their eyes glaze over whenever I mention programming Roller Death Derby?

Yes, quite. My point is, there's no courtship rituals left. There's no way to discern the correct path to take, for what is chivalry and what is condescending? What is strong and what is weak? Should we cry? Should we open the door or let you pay for the DVD rental? What are we do to? We are lost!

And thus we end up at home playing Dreamcast games.

Yes, I blame society.
