Need Advice

The Question:
 Desslok

I recently got back in touch with a friend from my childhood that I haven't heard from or seen in about 12 years. He seems to be coming through a really rough period in his life. Should I try to provide him with advice or psychological insight into his problems or should I just keep my mouth shut? I don't want to make things worse and certainly don't know anything about the situation other than what he tells me, but I also would like to help if I can.

Bad advice is often worse than no advice at all.

Sifl & Olly

That sounds like pretty bad advice.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have said anything.

Well, I don't know how helpful that is, but at least I didn't get Dr. Crane telling me that I have to feel him out and try to read the situation.. etc etc ad nauseum.

What you should do is try to...

Actually, I was going to say that you're both men here, if you think you see something that can help him, then let him know. If he doesn't want to take your advice, he can make that decision. We're not women, we don't need a shoulder to cry on, we need results!

But if you'd rather listen to the sock puppets, then by all means.
