The Topic:
White Holes n' Death

The Question:
 Spankenstein

Hey, if "White Holes" spew forth matter and energy, doesn't this solve the problem of Heat Death?

Responses:
 Stephen Hawking

Yes, if they existed. They do, however, violate the 2nd law of Thermodynamics. While General Relativity is time-symmetrical (a white hole is nothing more than a black hole 'reversed' in time), the Universe itself is not. It seems that it would be impossible for a white hole to exist unless our Universe is linked with another by an Einstein-Rosen bridge.

 Stephen Hawking

At that point, however, this becomes more a discussion for Sliders fans than serious Physicists.
